This song was requested by our very own features editor, Natalie Trzeciak. Alex Turner, the lead singer in Arctic Monkeys, has not only been backed by a band, but has also been a soloist. Turner released an EP titled “Submarine” for the movie “Submarine” in 2011. His song “Stuck on the Puzzle” is unique in every way possible. “Stuck on the Puzzle” talks about a about a girl who everyone is adoring from afar at a party. The way that Turner describes the things going on in the picture the song paints is very different. He chooses to point out her hand multiple times, which is not something that I have ever heard in any song before. The puzzle Turner refers to is that this girl is going home with someone that he doesn’t believe is right for her, and he is “stuck on the puzzle.” The song is sweet and describes things that many of us have gone through before, wondering why someone is with who they are, and the fact that the song is relatable is what makes it great.
