The path to a dream

Freshman Nisa Faheem studies rigourisly at the school library in order to fulfill her dream of one day attending IMSA (M. Fulcer, Voice).
Her mother owned a restaurant called India Curry House.
Her father was a chemist.
Her sister, Nida Faheem, just finished her bachelor’s degree in the rigorous medical program at University of Missouri Kansas City.
Freshman Nisa Faheem is actively involved in after-school activities at Huntley High School. She is in Science Olympiad, academic team, math team, service club, and plays the tuba in marching and pep band.
Next year, Nisa dreams of being a student at the internationally known Illinois Math and Science Academy (IMSA).
There, not only can she focus on the areas she excels at, she can follow in her sister’s footsteps.
IMSA takes exceptional students in grades 10-12 and prepares them for careers in technology, math and science.
With this program, she can focus on her strong suits.
With this program, she can prepare for a career in the medical field.
With this program, she can become an anesthesiologist.
The application can be found on IMSA’s website, and demands a lot from the applicants.
The application needs reasons for wanting to attend. For Nisa, her reasons are becoming an anesthesiologist and making her family proud as Nida did before her.
Her qualifications, all her extracurricular activities, are also needed. Two to three essays are needed, as well a counselor and three teacher recommendations.
When she sends the application in, Nisa must also include her SAT scores and her transcript.
Whether she is accepted to IMSA or not will be a mystery to Nisa until April or May at the latest.
She hopes to receive positive news.
By becoming a student at IMSA, Nisa is not only setting herself up for success as an anesthesiologist in the future, she is continuing what her sister started when she was in 10 grade.
