MLB Season Preview

MLB Season Preview
MCT

$300 million reasons to be excited for this season. At least for the Miami Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton who signed the biggest contract in sports history.

Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer has a new place to call home along with Jon Lester, Matt Kemp, Jayson Heyward and many more big names.

Who was the offseason winner though? Can the San Francisco Giants win a fourth World Series in seven years? So many questions this year, and here’s what I think.

Offseason winners: San Diego Padres

The Padres made some huge moves this season in hopes to get to play in October including, my favorite move of the offseason, the pick up of outfielder Wil Myers, Rookie of the Year Award winner only two years ago. Also additions of Matt Kemp, former MVP candidate, and Justin Upton, Baseball America’s number 1 prospect when he was 20 years old. Also smaller pickups like pitcher Brandon Morrow and Brandon Maurer could really help the rotation. The San Diego Padres should at least get a Wild-Card spot in the Postseason.

Award Winners: Mike Trout, Paul Goldschmidt, Felix Hernandez, Stephen Strasburg, Kris Bryant, Andrew Heaney

I think that Mike Trout will repeat as the MVP in the 2015 season. He’s the best player in the MLB, and he has proven that the past three years. I think if he keeps his strikeouts down, all of his numbers will go up. In the NL, Paul Goldschmidt is going to win the MVP, I think he will hit over 40 home runs, 120 RBI, and a WAR over 7. King Felix will win the Cy Young and win 20+ games for the Mariners this year and in the NL Strasburg is going to have his breakout season. He will lead the Nationals to a World Series title and perform well in October. Kris Bryant will come up for the Cubs and start at third and hit 20+ home runs, and Andrew Heaney is going to win 15 games for the Angels.

World Series: Washington Nationals

I think Stephen Strasburg will lead the Nationals staff with Max Scherzer, Gio Gonzalez, Doug Fister, Jordan Zimmerman, and Tanner Roark to a World Series victory and they’ll win 95 games this season. After the breakout season of Anthony Rendon and Ryan Zimmerman coming back after injury plagued seasons. If Ian Desmond has a bounce back season, and Bryce Harper reaches his potential, the Nationals should do very well in the Postseason and win the World Series.
