“I am very proud of my little brother,” senior Jesse Alcasid said. “I see how much he has improved.”

Jesse has also competed against his older brother, Jonel, during his freshman and sophomore years on the team.

Sieb, and the rest of the varsity team, was encouraging the Geneva team. After the match ended, the two teams started to play a baker’s game, which is a game just for fun.

“It was a blast getting to know the other team and my team even more,” senior Kevin Sieb said. “You know, it’s all about having fun, not about winning.”

Last season, the team advanced to sectionals. This season, coach Andrew Weigand hopes to keep building off of the progress made from last season.

This season’s goal, according to coach Weigand, is for the team to advance to the second round of sectionals.

“Also to try to qualify at least one person individually for state.” coach Weigand said.

The team hopes to carry on this win into their next meet against Larkin on Friday, Nov. 10 at Bowl-Hi.
