The Fall Festival is here and it will be “leafing” you with joy

It’s that time of the year where Tom’s Farm opens up their fantastic family fall festivities. The Fall Festival started on Oct. 1 and will end Oct. 30. Located down on Algonquin road, Tom’s is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for your fall fun to begin.

At Tom’s Farm, they have a wide variety of activities for friends and family that differ during the week and weekend. During the week, they have straw and corn mazes, play areas, and different types of jumpies (jumping pillow, pumpkin jumper, etc).

“So many of the families and little kids love the jumpies,” employee Caitlin Walker said. “They just get so excited and the play area is always busy with people.”

On the weekend, there are different festivities such as the tractor-trailer rides, pumpkin express barrel rides, straw maze, and picking up your own pumpkins. A family favorite is getting the opportunity to decorate your different pumpkins for the festive holidays.

There are special activities being held too. On Oct. 19, between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., there is the Moonlight Corn Maze. Each year Tom’s Farm has had a different and fun shape for the maze. This year the maze is in the shape of an enormous windmill and a pumpkin out in front.

If you’re interested in the 7-acre corn maze, make sure to dress warm and come prepared with a flashlight. Once you find your way out, there are plenty of snacks to munch on and a fire to warm yourself up.

When the weather is questionable, feel free to call Tom’s Farm. They will always let you know if the outdoor festivities will be held or not. But just because the weather may not cooperate with you doesn’t mean that there are not any indoor activities going taking place.

A family favorite indoor activity is decorating your own scarecrow. This project allows your family or friends to work together to create something fun and different. All the materials are provided and you are able to take home your scarecrow once you have finished.

No matter who you are or what the weather does you are welcome to attend Tom’s Farm fall festivities. Make sure to tell your friends and family and come on down before the fall season ends.
