February Hot Off the Dress

By Maddie Meucci

It has been a WILD year at Huntley High School and the fashion trends have been too. We went from sherpas, to colored leggings, and even the scrunchie phase. But now, animal prints have taken over the fashion industry.

Snakeskin and leopard have been the most popular among patterns this year. They’re are in everything, from shoes, to even Apple Watch bands.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Krebs loves leopard print and believes that it adds to any outfit.

“It is very unique and stands out. It can really spice up an outfit,” Krebs said.

You can find leopard print anything at any store. Such as, Target, Hollister, Pacsun, or Tilly’s. So many items are made in the iconic print. It is so chic, yet not too much, and pairs with any look.

My personal favorites are the leopard Steve Madden platform sneakers and the leopard Wildflower phone cases. But, like I said, there is so much more.

Sophomore Ava Nielsen paired her leopard print Apple Watch band with her American Eagle sweater, black, distressed jeans, and her leopard slip on shoes. She looked adorable!

“I like leopard print because it is a cute pattern that can go with a lot of outfits,” Nielsen said.

Sophomore Alyssa King also expressed that she liked leopard print.

“It is so authentic and unlike any other trends we’ve seen this year,” King said.

Now for snakeskin, it isn’t as popular, but still a huge trend among girls.

There are really cute snakeskin pants and shoes that have been popular. The snakeskin shoes are in a bootie form and they are super cute!

You can purchase the snakeskin pants from Nordstrom or H&M. The booties can be found at DSW or Steve Madden. They are both cute and affordable!

Both prints are a great way to accessorize and add to any outfit. There are many different ways to accessorize and wear with each print.

Remember that the best outfits are the ones styled by you. Your creativity stands out the most!
