Marching band finishes season strong at Lincoln Way East High School

The bright lights illuminate the football field at Lincoln Way East High School as the members of Huntley High School Red Raider’s marching band take their positions. Applause, cheers, and the rattling of cow bells can be heard throughout the stadium. They are going to be performing the 2013 program ‘Stained Glass.’

CIMG1621The performance starts out somber and calm, and later picks up the pace. The music jumps back and forth between slow and intense in a smooth transition.

The color guard and marching band kids intertwine with one another with grace and all members ace their specific part in the overall performance. It is obvious from the way they performed that they were well organized and know what they’re doing.

It is cold outside, but this does not stop marching band from finishing strong. They receive even more applause and cheers at the end than they did in the beginning, and it is a disappointment to all when the Red Raiders fail to place in the competition.

The students worked well together and put on a great show for the audience. They did not go home with an award, but finished off a successful season after giving it their all.
