Administrative Changes for 2013-14 School Year

Huntley High School is having a few administrative changes for the 2013-14 school year after the school’s principal and assistant principal announce their retirement. Some of the changes in the article are pending Consolidated School District 158 Board of Education Approval.

Scott Rowe has been announced as the Principal. Currently Rowe is the Principal of District 158’s Marlowe Middle School. Rowe previously taught Social Studies and was a softball coach in McHenry.

He is replacing Dave Johnson, Principal after a 17 year tenure at Huntley High School. Johnson is retiring this year.

“Well, I don’t fit in cowboy boots,” Rowe said in a previous article when asked about filling Johnson’s shoes. “But I couldn’t be happier about being chosen as the new principal.”

Shelly Kish has been announced as the Assistant Principal pending Board of Education approval. She is currently the Math Department Chair, teaches Pre Calculus Honors and is the coach of the Junior/Senior Math Team. She has been a teacher at Huntley High School since 2003.

She will be replacing Sharon Hartman, Assistant Principal after a 14 year tenure at Huntley High School serving as a dean at one time and now Assistant Principal. Hartman is retiring this year.

Danyce Saul has been announced as Dean of Students pending Board of Education approval. Saul is currently a Social Worker and the PBIS Tier 3 Coach at Huntley High School.

She will be replacing Don Hantson, Dean of Students. Hantson is working in another school district next year.

Also on the Huntley High School Administration is: Michelle Jakubowksi, Athletic Director; Chris Duncan, Dean of Students; Dan Farlik, Dean of Students; Anne Pasco, Blended Learning Department Chair; and Brian Conant, English Department Chair. A new Math Department Chair is to be announced.
