Twenty One Pilots has high potential with “Blurryface”

By Kat Gorospe

[M]aybe it is the unique alternative sound that got Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun their share of fame; or maybe it is the advantage of social media that got the word out. Whatever the case may be, the Ohio duo, Twenty One Pilots, is overhyped. I never paid much attention to new bands since I figured they would come and go just like every other artist has. However, it seemed that the talk of Twenty One Pilots was on the rise, rather than staying low-key (which their “original” fans would probably prefer).

“Cinderella” teaches courage and kindness in a magical way

As several little girls shuffled out of the AMC theater in their blue dresses and toy tiaras, it brought back memories of when I dressed the same; the famous Disney tale being my favorite. On March 13, the remake of the 1950 classic Disney film, “Cinderella”, was released. Just like “Maleficent”, Walt Disney Pictures put a realistic twist in the movie, along with dazzling special effects.

17 East Monroe St. Chicago, IL. The Palmer House Hotel. A place where guests spend nights under the French-painted ceiling and where tourists come to see a piece of history. But for senior Madison Paez, it was her time and place for auditions.

Movie Review: Paddington

[A]s I was sitting in theater nine at AMC, little kids filled the seats and I wondered why exactly I picked to watch this movie. “Paddington” is an old childrens book that was published in 1972, and now launched into a movie as of Jan. 16. Maybe the 6-year-old me, who was obsessed with similar characters such as Little Bear, would love to see it. Unfortunately, I was not interested in the story line at all.

Holiday Wishes album review: Idina Menzel

By Kat Gorospe

In 2003, she was on Broadway. Draped in black clothing, covered from head-to-toe in green make up, she played Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. 10 years later, Disney welcomed her. She played the role of the famous ice queen, Elza, known for the song “Let it Go.” From “Wicked,” to “Frozen,” Idina Menzel has achieved every artists dream. Sure, one can create a few albums here and there, but Menzel was talented enough to expand her horizons beyond the studio.

Christina Perri’s music is anything but positive

With a great voice and tons of experience in the music industry, Christina Perri's second album "Head or Heart" was expected to be a hit. But her negative and gloomy lyrics could be what prevents this album from living up to its full potential.
