On Oct. 10, the boys varsity soccer team had their senior night game versus Prairie Ridge.

Prairie Ridge held possession for most of the game, and scored two goals in the first half. The game became more intense as the minutes of the second half were falling away. Two yellow cards were given: one to Huntley, and not long after the other was given to Prairie Ridge.

In the last minute of the second half, senior Kyle Owen scored, leaving the final score for the game at 1-2 Prairie Ridge.

The harsh conditions of heavy rain, wind, and 50-degree temperature affected the performance of all of the players and the field itself.

“The ball moved a little faster,” senior Drew Landoch said.

The conditions were a major factor in the game, because on many occasions players had taken many falls due to the slick field. However, even with the weather, the Raiders had improved as the game went on.

“The first half was rough,” head coach Kris Grabner said. “They came out significantly better in the second half.”

Prior to the game 13 seniors were honored that night, including: Andrew Fulcer, Raul Valladares, Anesu Chinoda, Luke Loprieno, Devan Turk, Raemon Martin Savillo,  Salvatore Arnieri, Drew Landoch, Matt Jensen, Adam Kaster, Kevin Sieb, Jack Bell, and Kyle Owens. Younger teammates, fans, and parents – who were there for support – cheered for them.
