[Update] Harmony Rd campus reopens after bomb threat

Consolidated School District 158 released at statement stating that the school campus is now open. All events will be running for Sunday and school will be in session on Monday.

“The suspicious car and package were found to not contain any dangerous items,” the district said in a statement. “The entire area has been deemed safe by the Huntley Police Department.”

Charged with Disorderly Conduct -Class 3 Felony was: Derek M. Habbley (see photo below), age 25, of 10215 Ridge Lane, Union, IL
Mr. Habbley has been transported to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing according to a Huntley Police Department release.

All individuals listed as arrested or charged with a crime in this press release are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The suspect is in police custody. We will stay with this story.

The Harmony Road Campus is on lock down due to an unknown issue at this time. We are working on getting details from Consolidated School District 158 and the Huntley Police Department. Huntley Police and McHenry County Sherrif have the campus secured.

The Huntley Police Department is currently investigating a suspicious package in the parking lot of the Huntley High School in conjunction with the Kane County Exposives Unit.
School activities have been cancelled for the evening. Please avoid this area for the next several hours.

Almost Maine has been cancelled this evening. A spokesperson from Consolidated School District 158 said there will be no statement from the district Saturday evening. The Huntley Police Department is preparing a statement right now.
