BREAKING NEWS: Power Outage at Huntley High School

Students are surprised as the lights flicker at Huntley High School.
Students are surprised as the lights flicker at Huntley High School.

“It was off and on so quickly,” said Principal Scott Rowe. Rowe says the incident was “a surprise.”

In addition to the power outage, the school’s bell system and intercom systems had to be restarted, confusing many staff members and students at the end of second period when the bell did not ring.

According to Rowe, Leggee Elementary also experienced similar issues, and says the outage can be traced to the electrical grid controlled by ComEd.

Rowe said the outage had no relation to the ongoing construction occurring at Huntley High School.

ComEd has not yet responded to inquiries made by the school’s administrators.
