Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria Pleases Many in a Specific Season

By Mawa Iqbal
February 24, 2015
The melodies of festive carols fill the air of stores and restaurants, the green and red lights twinkle underneath a white bed of snow, and the buzz of last minute shopping has never been more prevalent. The most wonderful time of the year was indeed here, and what better thing to do for Christmas, than to go grab some pizza?

‘Hot Tub Time Machine 2’ fails at pleasing high expectations

By Cierra Felton
February 23, 2015
Imagine a world filled with smart cars that drive themselves, vulgar game shows with no limits, and a hot tub that also functions as a time machine. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 was released on Feb. 20. Being a fan of Hot Tub Time Machine, I had high expectations for the sequel. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to the point where I considered walking out at some parts. Director Steve Pink should have stopped at the first movie. In the first movie, life long friends Lou, Nick, Adam, and his nephew Jacob, are accidentally sent back to the ‘80s. Realizing that the universe is giving him a chance to change his life, Lou uses his knowledge of the present to get rich. He eventually invents Lougle and becomes the main singer for Motley Lou.

Song of the week: Experience the new single “FourFiveSeconds”

By Courtney Thomas
February 18, 2015
The song “FourFiveSeconds” by Rihanna, Kayne West, and Paul McCartney was released on Jan. 24, 2015. It is the lead single for Rihanna’s eighth studio album. The song is something different from what Rihanna and West usually do; it is an acoustic song. On the Billboard Hot 100, “FourFiveSeconds” peaked at number six. The black and white music video appears to have been filmed in a small box. The video starts off with a silhouette of Rihanna and West’s that is featured periodically throughout the video. The song itself is catchy and so different from the normal for these artists that you cannot help but love it.

‘Blade Runner’ still captivates fans

By Tyler Lopez
February 17, 2015
It may seem far fetched, but the idea of human-like robots has been a dream for mankind for almost sixty years. But the idea of murderous, uncontrollable and crazy robots is an idea man has not wanted to think about. Los Angeles. Nov, 2019. Earth has become a cesspool of crime, poverty and disease. Humanity has taken to the stars, and have begun the dauntless task of colonizing faraway planets and galaxies aboard massive colony ships. Replicants once walked the same streets as humans, worked the same jobs, attended the same bars and even shared affection for each other. But after years of violence, Replicants are outlawed from being on earth.

‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is simply breathtaking

By Taylor O'Donnell

From the opening scene with a character being killed, to the end where everything was wrapped up with a neat little bow, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ was a fairly spectacular movie. All of the characters were wonderful, from the down-to-earth main character and his humble origins, to all of the slick, courageous Kingsmen themselves. Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin, played by Taron Egerton, was the main character in this movie, and he was portrayed fantastically.

Song of the Week: “Stay With Me”

By Courtney Thomas
February 10, 2015
“Stay with Me” by Sam Smith won Song of the Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards, and Smith also won the Best New Artist. The song was released on April 14, as a single from the album “In the Lonely Hour.” The music video is very cliche, starting with Smith walking down an empty street and lip syncing terribly. While the music video is cliche and horribly done, the song itself is catchy and still playing all over the radios across the world. The song peaked at number one on 14 different charts and has had over 200 million views. Check out the music video below.
