With many accomplishments last season, both the boys and girls track teams are looking forward to their upcoming season. “I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can do as a team, because we’re basically brand new right now,"...
Friday night at Crystal Lake South, the Huntley Red Raiders’ boys track team overcame injuries to continue their dominant season.
It is the last race of the night and rain is pouring down, the 400 meter relay is the last race of the night. The final gun-shot of the night is fired. Minutes later Huntley wins the 400 meter relay race.
The air was warm and breezy in the afternoon of Friday April 17, and the anticipation of the varsity girls track team filled the stuffy air of the bus. Weeks of practice and improvement, as well as a two hour bus ride, had led to the arrival at the Fricke Invitational at Ottawa Township High School.
It was a frigid afternoon when the meet started. The stands were filled with the parents, of the athletes, wearing winter coats, hats and gloves. It was a different temperature than what Huntley had grown accustomed to over the past few weeks, but the track and field team were just as ready as ever to compete.
