Dennis Brown, The Voice newspaper, huntleyvoice.com adviserIMG_4631

Dennis Brown teaches News Media Production, Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure. He has advised publications at Huntley HS since 1997 and has spoken on numerous topics in journalism at local and national conferences.

Mr. Brown is the president of the Northern Illinois School Press Association and in 2007 was named a Special Recognition Adviser by the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund. In 2011 he was chosen as one of eight “Those Who Excel” teachers in the state of Illinois, a finalist for Illinois Teacher of the Year. In 2017 he was named the Kettle Moraine Press Association’s Nancy Becker Newspaper Adviser of the Year.

He has a bachelor’s degree in English/theology from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s in Secondary Education (English) from Roosevelt University.

Lauren Teeter, Harmony yearbook adviserTeeterpic

Lauren Teeter teaches Yearbook Production and English III. She became the Harmony adviser in 2014. She has a bachelor’s degree in English education from Illinois State University.

Alyssa Gilleland, Raider Nation News adviser

Alyssa Gilleland teaches Television Production and English II at HHS. She became the Raider Nation News adviser in 2017. She has a bachelor’s degree in English/Secondary Education from Carroll University and a master’s in Educational Leadership from Aurora University.
