The family friendly movie, “Mother’s Day” is the perfect movie to treat your Mother to, and what a coincidence, Mother’s Day is just around the corner! This chick flick includes lots of humor but also adds heartfelt moments that might just put you to tears.

Although the film had many parts that had the audience laughing, the movie was just okay. I would rate it a three out five stars.

“Mother’s Day” was interesting but the plot seemed somewhat cheesy, and the ending seems like it can almost be predicted. Along with the cheesy plot was that there was lots of innuendos that left me confused.

Director Garry Marshall, who also directed “New Year’s Eve” and “Valentine’s Day,” made “Mother’s Day” very similar to these two films. The romanticism and humor was just repeated in another movie named after another holiday.

This chick flick included some A-list stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, and Jennifer Garner. Aniston and Sudeikis were some of the actors in this film who had different plots, but somehow come to meet each other.

Aniston definitely stood out, in a positive way. She was the most humorous of the bunch, and actually made the entire theater laugh. She was one of the best actresses in this movie because of how natural and funny she was when portraying her character.

What was very obvious and almost annoying in this movie was the amount of sponsors that could be found throughout the film. At some points all you would see was a large “Northwestern” logo across the shirts of many people, when the movie takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. There were so many sponsors that were exaggerated but I am not going to even get started.

Overall, if you are looking for a movie that will make anyone laugh, this is the best movie to pick. It may have parts that leave you a little uninterested, but most points were brought back up with some comic relief.

If you have some extra time after the show, make sure you stay behind and watch the credits. There are behind the scene bloopers that had the cast even laughing.
