Senioritis is taking over

The blaring sounds of your 6:00 a.m. alarm goes off, your first reaction is to hit snooze. When it goes off again you want to hit snooze but you know you will be late to your first hour class. 6:45 a.m. you hit the road, sitting in 40 minute long traffic like you have the past four years. 7:28 a.m. you are walking down the west wing when the two minute music comes on, just like it does every day. The day goes by, the hall ways are crowded, and the homework piles on- every day. It is getting old.

Senioritis is happening- it is in full force for the Class of 2017. The seniors cannot wait to get out and never look back.

“I do think [senioritis] is real because I see it everyday,” senior Julia Pellitteri said. “I hear people talking about how much they wish they graduated early and how they want to be done.”

Senioritis is not a real disease but it sure feels like it. The endless amount of homework, late nights, and early mornings can make anyone sick mentally.

Figure out if you have Senioritis (B. Governale)

I am definitely a victim of senioritis. It is becoming tough for me to do my homework, all I want to do when I get home from school is sleep and once I wake up it is close to 8:00 p.m. There is not enough time in the day to go to school, work, do homework, and sleep.

Parents will tell you the last semester of your senior year is the best time of your life. But when will that start? After Prom? Before Prom?

Prom is still two months away, so for now we are stuck counting down the days until graduation.

“Do I think senioritis is real?” Cooperative Education teacher Page Schaschwary said. “Do I think the sun rises and sets? Yes.”
