Song of the Week: “Bring Me to Life” has a deeper meaning

“Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence, an American rock band, was released as the lead single on their album “Fallen,” on April 22, 2003. There have been many interpretations of the song and its meaning, but there are few that are unarguable. All arrows point to this song being about someone who is lost, figuratively, and needs someone to find them and bring them back. It is very easy to assume that this song is about someone who is depressed and realizes it, but does not know how to help themselves. While the video does not quite make sense with what the message of the song , the music has that “Daredevil” movie vibe, which is where the song gained popularity. “Bring Me to Life” peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. Hence, enjoy the music video above that got people talking.
