“Wilder Mind” shapes a new tone for Mumford and Sons

By Ryan Mills
May 4, 2015
Well known Folk band Mumford and Sons released their third album “Wilder Mind” this past Monday. One thing this album brings to fans is variations of either love or hate. “Wilder Mind” brings about a whole new sound for Mumford and Sons. They step away from their banjos and switches to all electric guitars with this album and brought a more Electronic/Rock kind of feel to their music. The band has been seen without their original style, not wearing suspenders, skinny jeans, or leather jackets. For many die heart fans this change is disheartening, putting the Mumford and Sons we have all grown to love at rest and bringing about a new era of the band sounding similar to Radiohead, U2, and/or Coldplay.

Now and On Earth album review: Blacked Out

Now and on Earth is a metalcore band that recently released their new album “Blacked Out." Going into this review, I had never heard of this band before and probably never would have because I do not normally listen to metalcore music. I had many presumptions about that genre of music and this band I had never heard of.

Falling in Reverse released their album “Just Like You” earlier this week. This band may not be well known, but based on their consistent, unique sound, they should be a more popular name in the near future.

Movie Review: Unbroken

By Ryan Mills
January 26, 2015
“Unbroken” takes viewers side by side with the many hardships Louis “Louie” Zamperini faced throughout his life. Produced and directed by Angelina Jolie, “Unbroken” is based on the 2010 non-fiction book Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption., written by Laura Hillenbrand. The movie starts off showing Louie on a bomber plane in World War Two. The plane gets badly damaged in combat, with several crew members getting injured. The visual effects make one feel as if they are holding on for their dear life right there next to Louis.

Movie Review: Big Hero 6

By Ryan Mills
November 13, 2014
“Big Hero 6” will take viewers on an emotional roller coaster, effortlessly shifting among action-adventure, comedy, and drama. One will find themselves in awe of the amazing action scenes, laughing hysterically at the playful humor, and even shedding tears for 14-year-old Hiro Hamada. The movie sends the viewers off to the futuristic city of “San Fransokyo,” a combination of San Francisco and Tokyo. Hiro Hamada is not an ordinary 14-year-old, he is a genius, he finished high school at the age of 13 and is a robotics expert and enthusiast. He lives with his aunt Cass and his older brother Tadashi.
