Ribbon cut on Sun City’s new Fountain View Center

On January 21,  a ribbon cutting ceremony was held by Del Webb’s Sun City initiating the grand opening of  its newly renovated building, The Fountain View Center, located in Prairie Lodge.

The brand new Fountain View Center opened its doors to all Del Webb citizens at 10 a.m.. Citizens were free to roam the center’s  main upper level, lower level as well as its new multipurpose and back storage rooms. A view of the fountain was able to be seen through the Center’s vast windows, a main part of the new attraction.

Previously known as the Sales Center,  the Fountian View Center was renovated after Del Webb citizens had expressed concern for more room in Praire Lodge. The Sun City Commitee then opted the Sales Center to serve as the new spacious location. The Fountain View Center was renovated to hold many diverse range of acivities such as social activities, banquets, meetings, and serves as an official place for Sun City residents to take their visitng relatives.

The Huntley Area Chamber of Commerice president, Rita Slaweck, began the ribbon cutting ceremoney at 10:50 a.m. by thanking all the Sun City residents for attending the Center’s grand opening. She then introduced all individuals involved in the Fountain View’s renovation project.

Bill Berendt, chairman of the Sun City commitee, first spoke by thanking his commitee members for their devotion to the project and thanking Sun City residents for their patience.

 

The renovation of the Fountain View Center was an year long process. All the while Del Webb citizens had to deal with the constant construction sounds and disturbances causing impatience among the Del Webb community. Fortunatley for the citizens the conflict came to an end today due to the finalization of the project.

Following Berendt, Andrew Dugen, PHN architect in charge of renovating the center’s design, expressed his gratitude for being involved in the project.

“It is all ways great attending the grand opening of a project,” said Dugen. “ This was a lot of fun.”

Huntley Mayor Chuck Sass was next to speak. After good naturaley commenting on the turnout of the center. He congragulated Berendt and the rest of the Sun City commitee on their hardwork and dedication to the Fountain View Center project by honoring them with an award.

Berendt ended the ceremoney by cutting the red ribbon with the rest of the Sun City commitee, PHN architects, Mayor Chuck Sass and Chamber of Commerce president Rita Slaweck by his side.

“It’s a very pretty room,” said spouse Wilma and John Carollo, Del Webb citizens who attended the ceremoney. “ We come here a lot so this [renovation] is very nice.”

Del Webb citizens continued to visit the Fountain Center throughout the morning and early afternoon.
