[T]he theater hushed as dozens of children and their parents filed in to watch the new adventure comedy, “Home.” They entered hoping to see a heartwarming tale, and they were treated to just that. On March 27, “Home” was released by Dreamworks, telling the story of a clumsy, but lovable alien named Oh, and a young teen named Tip, who is trying to find her mom. The film stars Jim Parsons as Oh, and Rihanna as Tip. Hollywood Undead releases “Day of the Dead” that gets support from loyal fans

By Cierra Felton

The hot summer air filled my lungs as I nervously read my upcoming 7th grade schedule. My friend and I sat in the itchy grass as we compared our schedules, hoping to have a class together. After a few minutes, she stood up and walked over to her iPod to change the song. My ears became more alert as they were stimulated with perfect harmonies and hilarious lyrics. This moment changed my music preferences forever. Hollywood Undead became my favorite band after only hearing one song. Hollywood Undead is a band that consists of members: Charlie Scene, Funny Man, Danny, J-Dog, Johnny 3 Tears, and Da Kurlzz. They are unique because they were masks and produce songs of several genres, such as pop, rock, rap, alternative, and even metal. Hollywood Undead’s fourth album “Day of the Dead” was released on Tuesday, March 31. Fans have been anticipating this album's release date since the single "Day of the Dead" was released on Oct. 21, 2014.

“Woow Sushi” makes guests feel right at home

Being the avid sushi-eater that I am, I was thrilled when I heard that there was another sushi place that had recently opened up in the Algonquin area. Woow Sushi, along with Bistro Wasabi and @ Bangkok, had been added to my list of go-to restaurants when my sushi cravings hit. I remember getting the menu and coupons in the mail for Woow Sushi’s grand opening specials. There were so many tasty-looking menu items to choose from, and they were all within a reasonable price range. I knew this was not a restaurant worth missing out on. Walking in to the restaurant, I noticed how similar yet different the setting and ambiance were from Bistro Wasabi. The modern-style decor gave the restaurant a high-class, expensive look, but the soft lighting and comfortable chairs made everything seem more relaxed. Despite the setting, I felt like I was at home, especially when our waitress came out wearing sweatpants and crocs. She started out by giving us a free order of edamame, and helped us out by suggesting the best menu items that had no beef or chicken.

“Pretty Little Liars” finale disappoints many fans

By Claire Filpi

[T]he season five finale of the show “Pretty Little Liars” left fans feeling a bunch of different emotions. Fans have been watching the show for five years and after 120 episodes, 123 texts from A, and nine deaths they finally get to see who A is. Five years ago in Rosewood, PA., when the show started, four friends Spencer Hastings (Bellisario), Hanna Marin (Benson), Aria Montgomery(Hale), and Emily Fields(Mitchell) have been missing their friend Alison DiLaurentis (Pieterse) for a year. When a body was found, it was said to be hers then the girls started to see Alison in their dreams and in hallucinations. In the fourth season, the girls figure out that she is alive and hiding in New York. When she comes back with them, everything starts to get worse.

Many people were pouring in to Regal Cinemas to see the new “Insurgent” movie. The eager movie-goers were excited, especially myself when I slipped on the 3D glasses that would transport me to my favorite fictional adventure held in Chicago.

“American Horror Story” still continues to surprise audiences

'American Horror Story' is unlike anything else on television. Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, the show has been pushing the boundaries of horror since it started. Each season has different characters and settings, yet (mostly) the same actors. Season one follows an estranged family when they move into the murder house, season two shows the brutality of an insane asylum in the 1960s, season three explores a school for witches, and season three is about a freakshow in the 1950s.

“Elastic Heart” forms concerns

Remember Sia’s “Chandelier?” Well she’s back with an all new hit, “Elastic Heart,” featuring the same Dance Moms star, Maddie Ziegler. But because the song also features Shia LaBeouf, the music video has gotten many bad reviews of people saying it is inappropriate.

“Cinderella” teaches courage and kindness in a magical way

As several little girls shuffled out of the AMC theater in their blue dresses and toy tiaras, it brought back memories of when I dressed the same; the famous Disney tale being my favorite. On March 13, the remake of the 1950 classic Disney film, “Cinderella”, was released. Just like “Maleficent”, Walt Disney Pictures put a realistic twist in the movie, along with dazzling special effects.
