They cut us off right after a punch in the gut. Beth. Why Beth? Yeah it was stupid to stab someone with a gun. But still, every Walking Dead fan sat in utter shock and disbelief as the innocent Beth was carried out by Daryl and Maggie collapse in tears.
On the other hand, apart from TWD withdraw, the break allowed all fans to recuperate and gather their shredded emotional connection to Beth. They wasted no time getting everyone’s attention, throwing the fans back to the edges of their seats, and waiting to see what the group’s latest plan was.
Plans were not really the first priority when everyone was grieving in their own ways, some not at all. After some discussion, the goal was set: get Noah home.
Home for Noah was where he had originally been heading before that idea went down the drain. Now, with Rick following what he thinks Beth would have wanted, everyone gets Noah home. It was safe, had walls, and a place where they could finally stop running, stop just making it.
I believe everyone was disappointed for their own reasons where they arrived and Noah’s ‘home’ was abandoned and destroyed. From there on, things only go downhill, but I shall not ruin the surprise.
Watching it is only, and barely, half the fun. The show continues to be incredibly well directed and made, throwing viewers for a spin almost every episode. There seems to be no climax, the excitement just continues to grow.
The season drives on, pushing to an end, whenever that may be. Hopefully, not soon. I think I can speak for every Walking Dead fan when I say Sunday needs to come faster.
