As Darby Terry sits in Brad Aney’s class, she shoots up her hand like rocket to state her opinion on a subject that is being discussed. Darby is known to be an opinionated and passionate person.
After she states her opinion on a subject, the class usually laughs due to her passion and fury when she shares her opinions, especially when openly shares her opinions about fashion.
Recently, the class learned that Darby strongly believes that guys have absolutely no business wearing flip flops.
“It simply is not okay for guys to wear flip flops,” said Terry.
Terry is known by her friends and family to be a fashionista. Practically every night, Terry manages to put together stylish outfits for her school day.
Her closet is full of her favorite brand names, and she proudly promotes their clothing lines, such as Gap.
“All I have to do is go into a store and look, then put things on. It just comes to me; like I see certain styles and I know how to wear them,” said Terry.
Recently, Terry was hired at Express as a personal stylist, and she is super excited about starting her new job and sharing her opinions about fashion with others.
One of Terry’s main fashion trends is how she wears socks with Sperry’s Top-Siders and that usually isn’t a typical thing you see at HHS. Also, Terry is currently trying to bring back scrunchies.
Terry is also passionate and opinionated about other issues as well.
But no matter how the class reacts, she believes it is important that people know what is going through her head.
“I just kind of say what comes to my mind, and go with it,” said Terry. “You have to be confident about what you say because if you say something based off other peoples’ reactions and go forward from there, it’s not good. You’re going to look weak.”
Terry is a well-rounded person. She participates on the HHS Cross Country Team, she is a Link Crew Leader and she is a National Honor Society member.
“I think below average athletes like myself should still play sports. I still gained something from cross country and being on the team, even though I wasn’t the top runner,” said Terry.
