It may not look like it, with the lack of snow and mild weather, but Christmas is rapidly approaching in Huntley and across the US.
In a matter of three short weeks, children will be waking up on Christmas Day to mountains of presents nestled neatly beneath their decorative Christmas trees.
With this comes immense joy, family, great food and more torn wrapping paper than a single human mind could fathom.
Behind all of the Christmas spirit and joy is the big man himself, Santa Claus. Kids of all ages had the chance to enjoy a breakfast of festive pancakes and sweets with Santa on Dec 6 at Del Webb’s Sun City.
Organized by parents, the breakfast with Santa is great opportunity for a kid to be a kid and enjoy the wonders the merry holiday brings. Some activities such as coloring were present as well as the chance to get pictures with Santa.
Dozens showed up for a good time on an early Sunday morning, many with hopes of having a great Christmas and the desire to have memories for years to come.
The joy the children held was apparent as smiles crossed their faces and laughs filled the room as the happily ate their breakfast.
An event such as this is not new to Huntley, as the town holds many seasonal events, with the most being in the fall and winter seasons.
The sense of community is deep within Huntley, as coordinators and families alike plan out activities that will involve people of all ages in events that create memories most will always remember.
