As the temperature dropped outside, the Red Raiders turned up the heat versus the McHenry Warriors. Within the first 10 seconds of the game, the ball was tipped into the hands of sophomore Brady Ceh and she drove through the McHenry defense, managing to score the first points of the game.
Three minutes in, Huntley again scored as Alyssa Constantino took a daring shot through the Warriors. The first quarter came to a close with Huntley up 4-0.
Huntley fired into the second quarter with Brady Ceh again scoring two more points, pushing Huntley up to a 6-0 lead.
The second quarter was dominated by Huntley, with a total of 16 points being scored. This increased the gap and Huntley was up 20-0.
As the third quarter began, the Warriors started to push back at Huntley, but ultimately could not stop the Red Raiders from scoring two more consecutive shots. McHenry gained ground with two free throws, putting them behind by 20.
Huntley called a timeout to regroup as McHenry again began to dominate the ball, stopping any shot attempts. McHenry’s defense was gaining ground.
No shots were scored in the third, leaving the score to stand still at 22-2.
In the fourth, Huntley nailed a three pointer and two more shots, making the the score 29-2. McHenry managed to find their footing and scored one more shot, which would end up being the final shot of the game.
The game to a close with Huntley holding onto an astonishing score of 38-4, after a slew of successful shots were taken. Huntley had won over McHenry.
