The lanes were clear and the pins were set for the Red Raiders game on Friday, Nov. 15. Team captains Jerik Alcasidia, Joseph Kern, and Ethan Babicz gathers the team for their pregame speech; the team jumps up in down in the huddle and the match begins.

The Raiders were victorious against Larkin High School this Friday. Nick Zummo with 664 pins, Alcasid with 604, and Kern with 591 helped push the team forward.  Huntley scored 2,965 pins while Larkin scored 2,054. The Raiders are currently 2-1 and have played in one invitational.

Jerik Alcasidia said this match, the team was focused on teamwork.

“As a team, we did well. We kept each other’s spirits up and made sure no one got upset during the game,” Alcasid said.

The Raiders definitely focused on their score, as the Raiders beat Larkin by 991 pins.  The Raiders are still early into the season and are only getting better.

“We have had our ups and downs, but it is still early so we have an opportunity to get those bumps out of the system. We are still early into the season but we are able to see who wants it the most in order to put the best team out there,” coach Andrew Weigand said.

The Raiders want to continue to work on parts of their game to be the best.

“The team mentally could have been better, but our scores from last year have improved. We now just need to keep working on our physical game,” Alcasid said.

The season is looking good for the Raiders boys bowling team. They have players that are passionate about the sport and want to continue with the momentum they are gaining from their win.

The team will play Monday, Nov. 18 against Grant High School.
