Frozen 2 review: The basic rundown
December 12, 2019
Six years ago on Nov. 27, 2013, Disney’s original movie “Frozen” was released. “Frozen” was and is still a family favorite movie. All around malls and in stores, Anna and Elsa dolls, posters, dress-up items, and even bedsheets could be found. Today you see it all over again as “Frozen 2” is in theatres.
In “Frozen 2” Anna (Kristin Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) begin on an adventure far from the kingdom of Arendelle. They are joined by friends Olaf (Josh Gad), Kristoff (Jonathan Goth), and reindeer Sven.
At the beginning of the movie, Elsa has a flashback of a story her mother and father told her about the northern enchanted forest in Ahtohallan. She soon hears a voice and realizes it is her duty to find the truth of the past and save the people of the enchanted forest. The Northuldrians have been trapped in the forest for over 30 years.
The Nothuldrians and Arendellians were in disagreements and signed a treaty to keep peace throughout the lands. This treaty terms such as building a dam to prevent the floodings of the kingdoms and a frozen barrier that would keep them separate.
When Anna and Elsa meet the Northuldrians they come across frozen sculptures of the past. The most important one is of their parents. The sisters discover that their parents came from different lands. Their mom came from Ahthohallen and their father came from Arendelle.
While Elsa and Anna are on their journey to find the truth of the past, they discover that their parent’s shipwreck that happened six years ago was in the wrong ocean. Their parents tried to sail to Ahthohallan to learn about their daughter’s powers but failed in the dark sea by the four spirits. Anna finds a map that leads Elsa to find out she is the missing fifth spirit.
As Elsa and her friends are on their dangerous adventure through the forest, Elsa encounters 4 spirits which include air, Earth, water, and fire. The air spirit Gale is represented by leaves as a playful and uplifting spirit. Earth is symbolized by rock giants that are the most fearsome.
Anna uses them to break down the damn and creates peace between the two lands. The third is the fire spirit Bruni. Bruni is the cutest and quickest salamander spreading wild and dangerous fires over Ahtohallan. The final is the spirit water Nokk. Nokk is a horse and the toughest to beat.
Elsa becomes the queen and protector of the enchanted forest and Anna becomes the queen of Arendelle. Their mother had two daughters. Didn’t she? Elsa visits Arendelle to keep the peace between both of the lands.
“Frozen 2” is a great family movie and should be watched by all “Frozen” and Disney fans. The creators did a phenomenal job with the creativity and animations of the movie. I recommend watching “Frozen” before “Frozen 2” to have a refreshed mind.
