Thursday’s 3A Division Country Financial Three Point Showdown consisted of 32 contestants. Out of the 32, four advanced to Friday’s final.
Contestants have 45 seconds to shoot five shots from three positions and the four contestants with the most shots advance to the next round. Villa Lakes’ Kelsey Kohler and St. Viator’s Hannah Scheller each made nine shots to advance after the first round.
In addition to Kohler and Scheller, Elmhurst’s Brittany Scheidt and Mascoutah’s Brittney Zipfel beat out Jones’ Charlotte Giese in a tie-breaking shootout.
Kohler, Scheller, Scheidt, and Zipfel will compete in the final 3A Three Point Showdown tomorrow between the two 3A games. The winner of the 3A final will move on to Queen of the Hill where the top shooter from each division will compete to be the best shooter in the state.
