‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ is a television show created by Joss Whedon that ran from 1997 to 2003.
The show centers around Buffy Summers who moves to Sunnydale, California with her mother after she was expelled from her old school for burning down the gym (it was overrun with vampires).
Buffy attempts to run from her destiny as the slayer, but she is roped back in by her new Watcher, Giles, and must eventually accept her duty to save lives. She and her new friends Willow and Xander help her save their town – and the world – from the apocalypse again and again.
Audiences watch as Buffy and her gang battle vampires, fight their own personal demon, save the world, and navigate relationships.
This show has a little bit of everything: comedy, drama, horror, and thriller. It is impossible to label the show as a single genre. The characters are well-rounded, relateable, and easy to love.
‘Buffy’ has been over for more than a decade now and it can be unnerving to jump right into cheesy special effects and ’90s hair, but the show’s quality more than makes up for it.
