Alicia Keys’ new album “ALICIA” is well worth the six month wait
September 22, 2020
After six months of waiting, Alicia Keys’ new album “ALICIA” is here, and it does not disappoint. Her seventh album, originally scheduled for March 20, is an R&B album taken to the next level. The 39-year-old singer, songwriter, and actress shows us that even in times like these we can produce something that we can all use to escape even for just a moment.
Her song “Authors of Forever” is a reminder that we are all together.
“We’re all in this boat together,” Keys sings.
We are all dealing with the same pandemic, and we are learning how to cope with it together. “Authors of Forever ” is a great anthem to help you feel good through these difficult times.
“Underdog” is an incredible song about people working for a better life. It is a great pick-me-up whenever you are feeling down, and it can definitely help motivate you to work harder.
“This goes out to the underdog/Keep on keeping at what you love/You’ll find that someday soon enough/You will rise up, rise up, yeah,” Keys sings.
The lyrics have an empowering message to never give up because it will all be worth it. This is one of those songs that will never get old.
If you’re looking for a new love/breakup song, then Keys’ “Love Looks Better” is perfect for you. It has a fantastic beat along with catchy lyrics like “Don’t matter what I give it to/My love looks better on you,” that will get stuck in your head for days. It is also just a great song to listen to when you need a quick jam session.
Her last song on her album is “Good Job,” and it can be a tear jerker. This song is about letting the people in your life know that they are doing a good job and that they matter. This is a great song to send to a friend or family member who’s feeling down, or if you are just feeling down yourself. I know that this song will be in a sad movie or two.
Alicia Keys’ new album deserves a listen. With 15 songs, there is something for everyone. It reminds us that not everything is bad and that we should cherish the good things in life. I would give this album an 8/10. It has some amazing songs; however, I am not the biggest fan of a couple of the songs. In all, I highly recommend this album, and some of these songs will for sure be on my playlist.
