Huntley High School is home to many outstanding athletes from all sports. In this issue of Overtime with Ty, we will be taking a look into who the Huntley coaches thought stood out during the fall sports season.

Our first standout athlete is senior Cole Modrich from boys golf who was nominated by Coach Kalamatas. Modrich’s most impressive outing this season was at Kishwaukee Country Club, where he shot a 78. Before each meet he eats a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch to get his mind ready.

Senior Ruhi Gulati from girls tennis is the next nominated player. Coach Wells nominated her because she is the only 4 time state qualifier from Huntley. One of her most outstanding matches came against Elk Grove in an incredible 2.5 hour match. Gulati’s inspiration is Serena Williams who is her favorite tennis player.

Our next athlete is senior Chet Andrews from football who was nominated by Coach Zimolzak. This was Andrews’ first year on the team and was a phenomenal edition on the defensive side of the ball. He led the team in sacks throughout the season and his favorite part from this year was the brotherhood he made with his teammates.

One of the many standout athletes from boys soccer was senior Hayes Porsche, nominated by Coach Lewandowski. Porsche had the game winning goal during the second overtime period against Crystal Lake Central. His favorite clothing brand is Adidas and he prefers night games over day games.

Junior Ally Panzloff is our fifth nominated player from the fall sports season. She was nominated by Coach Naymola for girls volleyball. She led her team in kills during the season and one of her most standout games came against Mchenry where she had 12 kills in a win. Her favorite app is TikTok and she prefers going to the beach rather than camping.

Coach Monson nominated senior Charlie Kucz from boys cross country. Throughout the season, Kucz was the leader of the cross country team and took control of a relatively young boys varsity team. He placed 9th in the IHSA 3A regional meet this past weekend. His favorite animal is cats and summer is his favorite season.

Our final nominee came from Coach Kaplan who nominated junior Breanna Burak from girls cross country. They had a stacked team of great runners, but Burak stood out from the rest. She placed top 15 in all saturday invitationals this season including her first place finish this past weekend at the IHSA 3A regional. Her favorite food is pizza and she would rather go out with friends than stay at home and relax.

Congratulations to all 7 of these athletes on their outstanding seasons. Their hard work and dedication to Huntley athletics is much appreciated. We wish these seniors best of luck in their future and we look forward to seeing these juniors once again next year. Stay tuned for the next issue of Overtime with Ty where we will be taking a look into the standouts from the winter season.
