If this is your first time hearing about this “organization,” so to speak, then stick around, especially if you are the type that likes to go from eldritch, lovecraftian beings that we have no chance to stop, to a sapient piece of slime that likes M&Ms and acts like a dog, to a document formulated in a way that you do not go insane and lose your identity, or maybe even possibly a pizza box that refills with your favorite type of pizza no matter how many times you open it!

I am getting ahead of myself, let us start at the beginning, the SCP Foundation. What exactly is it, I hear you so desperately asking. It is as simple as an organization that captures objects, animals, people, and everything that does not fit the standard definition of “normal,” then they run experiments with these anomalous things by throwing death row inmates at them. Calling them SCPs, these monsters have their own classifications describing how dangerous they are, meaning that everything ties in together and is consistent. Right?

WRONG.

While the base idea of the SCP Foundation is that they Secure, Contain, and Protect (SCP, get it?), no SCP is likely to be connected to another, meaning that all SCPs have their own little universes that you can connect and divide as you please. Confusing?

GOOD, because it is!

The reason the lore is structured this way is because all these stories, these tales and monsters, are all created by an individual. Not some board team coming together to create a monster just to end up with disappointment after a few years of development. No soulless corporation trying to pump out as much garbage as possible. Instead, just a community of around 1 million people, and 7,000 or more individual stories each created by an individual. This also means that you too can create an SCP! It also means that you (and most importantly, me) can use these creations to your heart’s content thanks to Creative Customs! Was this a lot of information to take in?

While you try to comprehend what you just read, I will throw you a bone and let you in on a simple SCP that will get you into the loop of this universe.

Introducing… SCP939! This SCP requires no introduction to long-time fans, as it is one of the more popular monsters available on the catalog. But, it is an excellent start to what the foundation has in store! Be sure to check it out, and if you hear your friends calling out for help, do not come running for them. They will probably have many voices!
