Conversations roam over Huntley as iPhone owners eagerly wait for the new update to download on their phones. Not only has Apple released the new iPhone 15, but the latest update is becoming a new favorite topic after its variety of improved features.
These new features have so much to offer. A new way of customizing your home screen allows a way of tinting app icons to any color, arranging them, and even changing their size.
“I like the new update because I can make my apps look so much fancier when they are different sizes, Apple made it so much better,” junior Kaylee Coleman said.
The iOS 18 update includes an app-locking feature, which has been discussed for years online. For those who feel they need this type of privacy, this update is helpful as the update requires a Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode to unlock specifically locked apps.
When apps are locked, the notifications and information inside them will not be available to see on your home screen.
“I feel that I can keep more privacy in case someone, like one of my friends, jokingly took my phone,” sophomore Molly Smith said.
A format in the Control Center has been established, allowing users to select controls after simply swiping down. They gain easy access to their favorite apps.
“I’ve been satisfied with the new features when you pull down on your screen with WiFi and music. You have many more options and it is way easier,” sophomore Cara Murphy said. “The photos are so cool to adjust.”
The photo gallery feature has received very mixed opinions from users as it is a completely new way of accessing albums. Photos are able to be organized by topics such as pets, vacation trips, and so much more.
With new updates, most often new emoji are added. Although, iOS 18 adds a way to react to text messages in an exciting way, with any emoji desired.
Overall, the community reviews are generally positive, and there is so much this update has to offer that is worth checking out.
