Recently, Saudi Arabia has been a destination for amusement park attractions. To attract more tourists and boost the economy, the Saudi government has poured billions into new projects. A few of these projects have been theme parks, including the world’s first MrBeast theme park and a new record-breaking Six Flags theme park.
Six Flags Quiddya City is a brand new theme park in the Rydiah province of the country. The park is part of a larger tourist development known as Quidda City. Six Flags Quiddya is one of the most technologically advanced theme parks to open in recent years, ranging from first-of-its-kind rides to record-breaking thrill machines. What put this park on the map was the opening of “Falcon’s Flight”: the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in the world. Navigating almost 14,000 feet of track at 155 miles per hour, the coaster beats the previous record holders by a landslide.
Riders launch up to 100 miles per hour up onto a 600-foot-tall mountain top. After a moment of anticipation, riders drop vertically down the cliff, where they are met with a launch tunnel to increase their speed. The most infamous part of a ride is a 535-foot-tall airtime hill, the tallest free-standing hill on any roller coaster. To put that into perspective, that is taller than the Space Needle in Seattle.
Other rides include “Iron Rattler”, the tallest tilt coaster in the world, standing at over 200 feet tall. “Spitfire”, a multi-launch roller coaster, features the tallest inversion in the world. Riders experience a 240-foot inverted top hat: a vertical hill that twists upside down at the apex. Colossus, a wooden-steel hybrid roller coaster, is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia. Other record breakers include a 600-foot drop tower and a 180-foot pendulum swing.
Father down the road lay another theme park: MrBeast Land, a pop-up attraction that ran from Nov. to Dec. 2025. This joint venture was between YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson and Rydiah Season, a famous Saudi festival. Themed to the YouTube channel “MrBeast”, the park included various minigames and attractions inspired by popular videos.
Minigames and challenges filled the park, with some even having opportunities to win a cash prize. In one of these games–if the player fails to match the pattern–a trapdoor drops below them. The player then falls into a foam pit, similar to those at trampoline parks.
MrBeast Land also featured amusement-park rides, including two roller coasters. The thrill coaster was known as “Energizer”: a portable inverted roller coaster, meaning riders sit below the track instead of above it.
Despite the pop-up’s success, it was not without controversy. Saudi Arabia, in general, is a controversial country, with many citing its issues with labor violations and oppression. When asked why this location was selected, MrBeast reasoned that he wanted non-American and international fans to get a chance to get involved outside of viewing his content.
Overall, despite criticism, Saudi Arabia’s new attractions put it on the map for roller coaster enthusiasts worldwide.
