[GALLERY] Huntley’s playoff dreams crushed by Fenwick

On Saturday, the Huntley football team lost a devastating game to the Fenwick Friars 10-9.
Huntley was ranked number 10 in the playoffs and Fenwick was ranked 7. Both teams had about the same success with their season. Huntley had a record of 6-3 and Fenwick had a record of 7-2.

Coming into the game, Huntley and Fenwick were both capable of taking the win.
Within the first five seconds of the game, Huntley stole the ball from the Friars and scored a touchdown.

At the end of the first quarter, Huntley’s Kameron Sallee kicked a field goal for the game’s first points.  At the end of the first half, the Friars retaliated with a touchdown of their own, making the score 9-7.
With three seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Friars kicked a field goal to win the game.
Coach John Hart finished the game with one last inspiration speech.
“What you did this year together is more than anything you could have imagined last year.” said Hart. “You guys were a dream team. Words cannot express how well you guys played tonight. We need to celebrate as a family.”

The final words of Huntley’s coach concluded the football season for the Huntley Red Raiders.

“This team is something to remember, be proud,” said Hart.
