The anticipation of singing is what keeps Senior Lauren Aceron going everyday. Guitar in her hands, and her mic near by, Aceron has a passion for singing unlike any other.
“It takes all the stress away from all the tests and quizzes I have to get ready for,” said Aceron.
Aceron has been singing as a traditional hobby for over five years. She started singing at random, and loved it. She is also musically talented with playing the guitar and piano.
She taught herself how to play the guitar the summer of her sophomore year, and took piano lessons when she was in third grade.
Singing is a passion she loves, and the feedback is an amazing feel for her.
“I show it in mostly videos,” said Aceron. “I’ll post it for all my other friends to see and it makes me happy when people comment saying how good of a voice I have.” Aceron has posted videos to her Youtube channel, as well as her Facebook page.
However when school became an overload, Aceron did take a break for a while.
“At the time I was frustrated and lost my confidence of thinking that I have a good voice,” said Aceron. However other commentators think otherwise.
“I’ve always been amazed on how great of a singer Lauren is,” said Senior Victoria Wolicki. “She’s amazing even if she’s so down on herself about it.”
Lauren believes the comments help her realize she shouldn’t hide her passion for singing; because clearly she’s got talent.
“I like singing and I’m glad that I started it,” said Aceron.
Aceron realizes there may be many other singers like her, who may have struggles and push singing aside, however she believes you should stick with your passion.
“Don’t be afraid to show others your talent,” said Aceron.
Singing is a great talent very few have, despite what your talents may be, always remember to embrace it.
