Coffee talk with Grace

One afternoon, while I was scrolling through Pinterest, I stumbled upon a picture of an interesting looking coffee from Starbucks. It was extremely appealing to the eye, so I figured I would go out and get it and see if it was as good as it looked!

The drink that I ordered was a caramel macchiato with extra caramel drizzle, light cream, three pumps of sugar free vanilla, and one pump of caramel syrup.

My initial reaction to this drink was that it was quite sweet. I was a little bit shocked that the taste of coffee was not really overpowering and ended up being quite faint. Typically with Starbucks coffee, customers can taste the distinct coffee taste that we know and love, but with this drink it was just lacking.

Although there were various added ingredients to this coffee, the drink itself was only 100 calories. So, it is definitely a healthier alternative compared to other drinks offered by Starbucks. However, due to the amount of added ingredients, the drink was just a little pricey. I ordered a grande and the total came out to be $5.65. So, I imagine the venti may be around seven to eight dollars which, for me at least, is considered to be expensive for a coffee.

Personally, I was not a fan of the coffee. It was good and I did not hate it; however, I would not get it again. I am a huge fan of the actual taste of coffee and for me, this drink was too sweet and tasted somewhat watered-down.

I would suggest this drink to those of you that enjoy sweeter drinks. If you genuinely like the taste of coffee, I would not recommend this drink. Although I would personally avoid this coffee, I am sure if there were certain ingredients taken out of the drink, such as the extra caramel drizzle, the sweet taste may have been eliminated and the strong taste of coffee that I enjoy might have come through.

Overall, the caramel macchiato with extra caramel drizzle, light cream, three pumps of sugar free vanilla, and one pump of caramel syrup offered by Starbucks was not my favorite, but I would still recommend it to readers that enjoy a bit of a sweeter coffee!
