Hello and welcome back to Wrestling with DMD, the review where we talk about wrestling companies like WWE and AEW. 

Today, we are talking about the WWE. This brand is now starting its road to WrestleMania. WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest show, and it is two days instead of one. 

A week ago was the Royal Rumble, the start to the road of Wrestlemania. We had a lot of big things happening, including two Royal Rumble winners, betrayals, and more questions on what is happening to certain superstars, so I think it’s time to start talking about it. 

First, let’s talk about the Royal Rumble winners, with the Royal Rumble match first. For people who do not know this match, it is one of the best matches WWE has ever made. Two wrestlers start in the ring, and after every 90 seconds, a new wrestler comes in until 30 wrestlers have entered, and the only way for the wrestlers in this match to be eliminated is to be thrown over the ropes. The winner of the match gets to go to the main event, WrestleMania, for the title of their choice. 

This match is always exciting, and you do not know what will happen in it. So now let’s talk about the winners of this year’s Royal Rumble matches, Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley. For Cody Rhodes, this is a big thing for him. Coming back to WWE after being in AEW and having a severe injury after a few matches in WWE to coming back to win the Royal Rumble, what a way for Cody to start the year off. 

Now, since there is only one main champion for Cody to face at the WrestleMania, the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. It will be Roman versus Cody, but the Pay Per View Elimination Chamber is coming up soon, so we do not fully know since Roman Reigns is facing someone for the title, but we will talk about that later. 

Now let’s talk about the Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Rhea Ripley. She has lasted in a match for a record time of a little bit over an hour. Then the day after her win on Raw, Rhea Ripley made her choice for who she wanted to face, The Queen, the Smackdown Women’s champion, Charlotte Flair. Now this choice is a very big deal, with Charlotte Flair beating Rhea in a match during the 2020 WrestleMania and then a year later beating her for the Raw Women’s championship. 

Ripley is looking for revenge as she hopes to beat Flair at this year’s Royal Rumble. Now that we have talked about the Royal Rumble winners, let’s talk about these other matches. Bray Wyatt versus LA Knight, a match that brought many questions. What is Bray Wyatt looking for? What is his goal? Who is Uncle Howdy? Right now, no one really knows, so we just have to wait and see. 

The other matches we had were Bianca Belair versus Alexa Bliss and Roman Reigns versus Kevin Owens. In the match between Bianca and Alexa, Bianca was victoriously retaining her Raw Women’s championship, but after the match, we saw a video of a playground and Uncle Howdy saying “do you think you are in control now?” No one really knows what’s happening to Alexa Bliss and right now we can only take a guess. 

Now let’s talk about the main event of Royal Rumble: Roman Reigns versus Kevin Owens. This match was an amazing match, but the biggest thing about this match was the end, the betrayal by Sami Zayn. This betrayal has lead to many things: the Bloodline, a team of Roman Reigns and his cousins, Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso, being broken, and Sami Zayn facing Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. 

Along with the Elimination chamber matches for the U.S. Championship and the number one contender spot for Bianca Belair’s title at WrestleMania, you should be excited for WWE since there seem to be a lot of good stories and matches coming to us soon.
