IV of Spades, a Filipino pop-rock band from Metro Manila, Philippines, was formed in 2014. The group has four members: Zild, Blaster, Badjao, and Unique.
They perform their songs in Tagalog, the Philippines’ national language, and English. On Jan. 18, 2019, IV of Spades released their debut album, “CLAPCLAPCLAP!,” which included fifteen songs, such as “Come Inside of My Heart” and “In My Prison.” The song “Come Inside of My Heart” has gained viral attention on TikTok. The song claimed No. 13 on the USA’s TikTok Billboard Top 50 on Sep. 19, 2024.
On Aug. 21, 2020, the group announced a break to pursue solo endeavors.
For example, multiple group members released their own solo projects. After the hiatus and the big international success with the song “Come Inside of My Heart”, IV of Spades surprised their fans by announcing their sophomore album, “Andalucia,” at Wish 107.5’s 11th anniversary concert.
They also announced the album via Instagram on Sept. 28. Before the album’s release, the group released four lead singles. They released “Aura” on July 16 and “Nanaman” on Aug. 12. On Nov. 5, IV of Spades finally released their new album “Andalucia.”
The album features twelve songs, including their four recent singles: “Aura” and “Nanaman.” The members self-write their songs. “Aura” made a debut on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart at No. 4.
The songs on the album include different genres such as Indie pop and alternative rock. Track 2, “Monster,” is an indie rock and pop rock track. Track 3, “Paru-paro,” is a pop rock, glam pop, and soft rock track. T
he song “Paru-paro” is influenced by classic Original Pinoy Music (OPM) and the early 2000s Pinoy pop-rock. Track 9, “Tangerine Boulevard”, is an indie alt-rock track. Track 11, “Rewind,” is an indie pop track.
