The long-awaited K-pop group is finally back. They last released an album called “Proof” as a group on June 10, 2022. After being in the military for 18 months and releasing solo albums, BTS got back together as a group to release their new album on March 20, and for their “Arirang” world tour from April 2026 to March 2027.
On Feb. 2, Netflix, on Instagram, announced BTS’s comeback live for their new album called “Arirang.” BTS will have a documentary called “BTS: THE RETURN” on Netflix, coming out on March 27. BTS released their tracklist for “Arirang” on March 3 on social media platforms such as Instagram and X. The tracklist features 14 songs, such as “NORMAL,” “Aliens,” and “SWIM.”
Millions of ARMYs, the fan base for BTS, waited for “Arirang” to be released on popular music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. Two months ago, ARMYs made theories about their album “Arirang” on X. The album’s title is dedicated to the folk song “Arirang.” It is the first Korean song sung by seven Korean men with Alice Fletcher, an American ethnologist, in the United States in 1968.
Most of the tracks of the album are composed by BTS’s members: RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook, and V. Jimin. RM, J-Hope, and Suga composed the 11th track of the album. Diplo produced the album’s tracks such as “Body to Body,” “Like Animals,” and “Into the Night.”
Track one is “Body to Body,” which is a pop-rap track with parts of the Korean folk song. They share their reconnection and their energy with the group and with ARMYs during their live concerts.
Track nine is “NORMAL,” which is a pop-rock track. The line “Show me hate, show me love, make me bulletproof” is referencing the K-pop group’s name Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boy Scouts). “NORMAL” is about the emotional experiences of being famous.
ARMYs all around the world on March 21 gather on Netflix to watch BTS’s comeback live. ARMYs in South Korea gathered to watch BTS’s comeback in person at the historic center, Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. It started at 6 a.m. CST. The comeback live showcased their new tracks from the album for the first time.
BTS performed their former songs such as “Butter,” “Mic Drop,” and “Dynamite.” They ended the performance with their song “Mikrokosmos” from their album “Map of the Soul: Persona.”
