“Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon was released on Sept. 10, 2014 and a month after, was released on iTunes as a free single. The song is on Walk the Moon’s second studio album, “Talking is Hard.” The song was heavily influenced by artists of the ‘80s and the cheesiness of the music video shows it. There was a lot of swirling colors and bad green-screen production, but it did not fail to make me feel laugh. At one point in the video, the song stops and lead singer Nicholas Petricca starts dancing horribly. The music video is incredibly bad but it makes up for having funny parts and being such a contagious song.
