Hollywood Undead releases “Day of the Dead” that gets support from loyal fans

The hot summer air filled my lungs as I nervously read my upcoming 7th grade schedule. My friend and I sat in the itchy grass as we compared our schedules, hoping to have a class together. After a few minutes, she stood up and walked over to her iPod to change the song. My ears became more alert as they were stimulated with perfect harmonies and hilarious lyrics. This moment changed my music preferences forever. Hollywood Undead became my favorite band after only hearing one song.

Hollywood Undead is a band that consists of members: Charlie Scene, Funny Man, Danny, J-Dog, Johnny 3 Tears, and Da Kurlzz. They are unique because they were masks and produce songs of several genres, such as pop, rock, rap, alternative, and even metal.

Hollywood Undead’s fourth album “Day of the Dead” was released on Tuesday, March 31. Fans have been anticipating this album’s release date since the single “Day of the Dead” was released on Oct. 21, 2014.

“Day of the Dead” is pretty amazing and it’s Hollywood Undead,” said a reviewer on iTunes. “It’s obvious this whole album will be good because let’s face it. Everything they put out is nothing less than amazing.”

They take a completely different approach to music as opposed to their previous albums. “Day of the Dead” seems to focus more on the instrumental than the vocals. “Guzzle, Guzzle” is almost unrecognizable as something they would write, due to Funny Man’s different tone of voice and flow.

Even though this album is a little foreign to Hollywood Undead fans, the track “I’ll be There” sounds similar to “Bullet”, a track from their album “American Tragedy” released in 2010.

“Swan Songs” is an album filled with meaningful songs that are easily relatable. It also includes vocals from former member, Deuce. “American tragedy” is filled with songs that pump you up and really make you want to party. “Notes from the Underground” includes party songs, as well as meaningful ones. “Day of the Dead” is an album with an electronic like feel to it. Overall, I give this album 5 out of 5 stars because Hollywood Undead is my favorite band, and I will always support them. I also love this new sound because it is refreshing.
