The Huntley girls golf team had yet another phenomenal season. Although their record was only 3-3, the girls still had some wonderful times on the course.

With being student athletes and having to keep up with grades and school, it is very difficult, but our girls still managed to pull through.

With Katie Matustik being the only girl golfer from Huntley to make it to regionals, the whole team was  beside her for support.

Coach Ann Christiansen was back for another year of coaching. The girls enjoyed having her back and playing for her again.

“It was a big deal being on varsity and it was very challenging but, with the whole atmosphere of the team, you made everything much better,” sophomore Molly Baker said.

With golf not being that popular of a sport here at Huntley High School, the outcome of the season was much more than expected by the athletic department and coaching staff.

Some highlights of the season were the victories over at the Rockford Boylan invite tournament on August 13, as well as their wins against McHenry, Dundee-Crown, and Jacobs.

Even though their season seemed to be short lived they still rocked out on the course all season long.

As this was senior golfers’ last hurrah before they graduate, all players and participants made this one very enjoyable season.

While there aren’t many returning girls, they cannot wait to have a much better season this upcoming 2019-2020 school year and are preparing to be ready for what’s to come.

“Look out Huntley, girls golf is making a comeback,” were Baker’s last words about the season.
