Many Twenty One Pilots fans have been elated about a recent album release, extending their discography and musical dystopian plot line.
The infamous musical duo, Twenty One Pilots, was formed in 2009 and originally consisted of Tyler Joseph, Nick Thomas, and Chris Salih, before Thomas and Salih left in 2011, and Josh Dun joined. Currently, Tyler Joseph performs the lead vocals, guitar, keyboard, bass, and ukulele while Josh Dun handles drums, percussion, and trumpet.
On Friday, September 12, 2025, Twenty One Pilots released their eighth album, “Breach”, which features 13 unique alternative hip-hop tracks, much like past releases.
These tracks seem to complete a decade-old story that follows Tyler Joseph’s battle with depression and self-destruction disguised as a dystopian narrative with a fictional country and a controlling government.
The album cover displays a red and black color scheme. Singers Joseph and Dun are seen against a dark-to-light red gradient background, which contrasts their primarily black clothing with subtle white and red accents.
The first track, “City Walls” instantly draws listeners in with the alluring guitar and fast, aggressive drums. It also seems to be a popular track among their returning fans.
Track number three, “Drum Show”, is easily a fan favorite, mostly because of the lyrics. It seems to focus on someone, presumably Joseph, who doesn’t want to go home just yet, and so he spends his time driving around fast for the thrill and slow to finish the music he’s listening to.
“The Contract” appears to be focused on Tyler Joseph’s struggle with his mental health and insomnia masked as paranoia and the stress of keeping promises.
Ultimately, this highly anticipated album has struck the hearts of many fans, rekindling a love for the duo of Twenty One Pilots.
