On Jan. 8, 2013, “Vessel” by Twenty One Pilots was released. It was released through Fueled by Ramen in Rocket Carousel Studio in Los Angeles. Although the first song started with an energetic flow embedded with pop vibes, fans could not help but love the bass rhythm on top of the sweet synthetic sounds on the album.

The band’s third album blew up, coming up at number 58 on the Billboard 200 Chart, but later regained attention in 2016, coming up at number 21. It has also been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, making the band the first to achieve this record.

As customers look at the artist’s album, they are sure to notice the peculiar imagery on the cover, showcasing two older men. Unknowingly to most, these were the grandfathers of producer Greg Wells and Tyler Joseph, the band’s lead vocalist.

Numerous fans have attached their meaning to the lyric-heavy music in the albums. Tyler stated that the vessel represented an individual’s body as an object, carrying something more important than the outer shell. The artists explain when someone dies, the vessel in their bodies is set free, including their personalities.

On Jan. 8, 2023, the band announced the release of a limited edition special vinyl box set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their third album. It includes two opaque discs in a triple gatefold with imprinted photographs and lyrics included. Its glamorous packaging has a metallic feel with a vessel silhouette cover box.

After announcing the celebratory vinyl set, fans were elated to know that a 10-year merch collection, influenced by their album artworks, would be added. A live stream was also launched on the band’s official YouTube account, incorporating performances of the tracks and never before seen fond recollections. During the stream, the band included a place where fans could donate to the Make-A-Wish foundation raising up to $45,000.

Needless to say, it has been a long journey for the band, as they have found success through their years of existence, and fans can not wait to hear more from them.
