Mike Skala, Former President of the Consolidated School District 158 Board of Education. Skala is now on the McHenry County Board after he won the election in November.

Of the seven-member Board of Education, Mr. Michael Skala resigned as of December 1, 2012, creating a vacancy on the Board of Education of Consolidated School District 158 of McHenry and Kane Counties, Illinois.

Mr. Don Drzal, President announced the Board will appoint someone to fill the vacancy. The person appointed shall only serve the remainder of Mr. Skala’s term, which is approximately three months.

Eligibility requirements to serve as a board member include:

  1. A United States citizen
  2. At least 18 years of age
  3. A resident of the State of Illinois and School District 158 for at least one-year preceding the date of appointment to the board.
  4. A registered voter in the State of Illinois and McHenry or Kane County
  5. Aware of financial conflict-of-interest limitations set forth in the Illinois School Code

Those interested should submit the following to the attention of Naomi Fettes, Board Operations, Consolidated School District 158, 650 Academic Drive, Algonquin, Illinois 60102.

  1. Letter of Interest addressed to: Board of Education, c/o Naomi Fettes
  2. Resume and Three References
  3. Copy of Voter’s Registration
  4. Proof of Citizenship
  5. Due by 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013
