Little kids running around, balloons flying everywhere, parents chasing children, Halloween music surrounded the gym; fun filled the air. There were cute matching costumes, particularly Mario and Luigi. It was Halloween Fun Night.

Halloween Fun night is held annually at the REC Center from 6 to 8 p.m with approximately 100-150 guests ready to be amused for the night.  It is held for all ages and parents bought tickets for their kids to play Halloween-themed games like putt-putt golf, bowling, ping-pong toss, hopscotch, and much more.

Other special activities included a costume contest where the participants were divided into age groups and awarded a pumpkin for first through third place for having the scariest, cutest costume. There was also a tattoo station, ran by Amanda Wolch, where the kids could get there face or body tattooed or painted on. Also, there was a table for the children to color fun Halloween pictures.

The music that played in the background were of course Halloween-themed which included The Addam’s Family Theme Song, “Thriller”, and “The Monster Mash”

“The kids all came dressed in their Halloween costumes and danced and played with balloons as the music played in the background,” said Wolch.

The atmosphere was joyful and entertaining by the looks of the kids smiling everywhere, and they were excited to play the games and win prizes. Families were also laughing and taking pictures of their little creatures.

“It made me want to join everyone in having a great time and get into the Halloween spirit,” said volunteer Sydney Wieczorek.

With the help of Huntley High School students Christian Murrilo, Amanda Wolch, Sydney Wieczorek, Bart Celer, Daryon Shariati, Akshay Patil, and the supervision of David Genty, the Halloween Fun Night was a complete success.
