The season five finale of the show “Pretty Little Liars” left fans feeling a bunch of different emotions. Fans have been watching the show for five years and after 120 episodes, 123 texts from A, and nine deaths they finally get to see who A is.

Five years ago in Rosewood, PA., when the show started, four friends Spencer Hastings (Bellisario), Hanna Marin (Benson), Aria Montgomery(Hale), and Emily Fields(Mitchell) have been missing their friend Alison DiLaurentis (Pieterse) for a year. When a body was found, it was said to be hers then the girls started to see Alison in their dreams and in hallucinations. In the fourth season, the girls figure out that she is alive and hiding in New York. When she comes back with them, everything starts to get worse.

A, a long time stalker of the girls, continues to send them threats via text message. As the texts get worse, another friend of theirs Mona Vanderwaal (Parrish) goes missing. Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily all turn their backs on Alison and throw her under a bus. Alison is then convicted of killing Mona. At the end of episode 25 (of season 5), we see the four girls get arrested.

The final episode opens up with the girls in the back of a police van wearing bright orange jumpsuits and locked up with handcuffs. When the van gets in a accident, the back door is open and A captures the girls.

When they wake up, it seems as if they are at home awake, but they are not. They are in A’s doll house and he/she/it controls them 24 hours a day. In the doll house they are surprised to find Mona (which I could have told you that was coming).

As the episode continues they are setting up for a prom in this doll house. During the setup they rig a camera to turn off all power in the house to give them enough time to run. As A comes up, Aria flashes “it” in his face.

In the end, Spencer gets into a room and turns on a video. She sees Alison’s mother with not one, but two boys. Jason DiLaurentis’ twin perhaps? With A right beside Spencer, she says the name Charles.

When the episode ends the girls are still trapped but they are no longer in the doll house, they are outside in trapped in electric fences.

I was highly disappointed, and most PLL fans were also, with the ending of the season. They hyped this episode up so much, they made it sound like we were going to find out who A really was. All we are left with is the name Charles and the fact that he could possibly be Jason’s twin and Ali’s older brother.

I feel like this episode of PLL on a 10 point scale would receive a  7.5. On social media websites, fans were going crazy not knowing who A is, asking who Charles is, and some people were angry.

With this season over, it looks like fans are going to have to wait until the final season consisting of only 10 episodes comes out this summer. Until then, fans will be left hanging.
