With Valentine’s Day around the corner, romance is in the air and in the movie theaters. “Marry Me” seems like another romance movie with comedy at first, but it did not disappoint.
“Marry Me” seems like another rom-com with just two actors that we all know and love. With the plot being the same as every romance movie that has existed, one character is really popular or famous, the other character is nerdy and an outcast. They fall in love at the end of the movie. “Marry Me” is just another romantic comedy movie.
It starts off with the world’s most famous lovable couple Kat Valdez (Jennifer Lopez) and Bastian (Maluma), getting on television with millions watching right before they perform one of the movie’s original songs “Marry Me.”
With news leaking through the internet right when the streamed wedding was going to start, the wedding took a turn and Kat married Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson). Now the two main characters of the movie have to deal with each other and their two completely opposite lives.
This movie was more about the classic plot of the popular girl and the nerd falling in love. It is about not making mistakes any more and taking a leap into love.
With the movie having some corny scenes, it has its heartfelt moments and some laughable parts too. Owen Wilson brought his jokes and made some awkward scenes laughable. With the movie having a common plot with two opposites falling in love, “Marry Me” still delivered with heartwarming scenes.
With the movie coming out they also have original songs created by Jennifer Lopez and Maluma, and the songs fit well with scenes being played and showed how beautiful the voices of the singers are.
Overall, this movie is just another romantic comedy movie but it definitely has its cute moments between Kat and Charlie.
